Founded by AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology in 1927, the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) is a world-renowned professional manufacturing exhibition. Held biennially at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA, IMTS is North America’s largest and longest-running international manufacturing event. Widely recognized as the barometer of the global machinery manufacturing industry, it serves as a leading global platform to showcase and trade advanced manufacturing technologies and equipment, holding a pivotal position in the worldwide metalworking and machinery sector.
The 34th edition of IMTS in 2024 delivered impressive results. It covered an exhibition area of 1,226,523 square feet (approximately 114,000 square meters), hosting 1,737 exhibitors. The top five participating countries and regions by exhibitor count were the United States, mainland China, Chinese Taipei, Germany and Canada. The total weight of exhibited machinery reached roughly 18,000 tons, attracting 89,020 professional visitors for on-site discussions and business cooperation.
For IMTS 2024, a total of 90 domestic Chinese manufacturers formed a delegation occupying a combined booth area of 2,538 square meters. All participating enterprises reported fruitful exhibition outcomes. The event effectively helped them expand global customer resources and elevate the international influence of Made-in-China machinery products.
